This guide provides a straightforward process for opening a new reporting year in the North Star Carbon application, ensuring users can efficiently set up the new year's reporting with minimal effort. By following these steps, organizations can copy previous data lines, and select what information from the previous year should be included in the new year to streamline the reporting process, saving time and reducing the risk of errors.
1. Navigate to https://app.northstarcarbon.com/
2. Navigate to the "Edit Company" section
4. Click the "+" icon to open a new year
5. Enter the Year
6. Click "Save"
7. Click "Yes"
8. Click "Copy GHG datalines to another year"
9. Select the Year you want to Transfer data from and the year you want to move the data to
10. Select the Sites you want to include in the Transfer
11. Select the Data you want to Transfer into the new year
Tip: Tip!
Emission Description - Custom Name your company created for the data line (Recommended)
Estimated - If the Data Line was marked as estimated in the previous year
Actual Values - If you want the actual data from the previous year moved over
Notes - Auditor Notes that were added in the previous year (Recommended)
Documents - Source documents attached to each data line
Assigned To / Owner - Auto assign data lines to same people from previous year (Recommended)
From and To date - Dates input from previous year
Cost - Cost estimates entered in previous year
Tags - Tags used to report specific emissions (Recommended if being used)
12. Click "Yes" and wait a few minutes for the data to Transfer over
13. If any data lines are causing an error, a report will show on the screen.
Click "Cancel" to finish the Transfer
